As the official hospitality partner of the DP World ILT20, we at ES Sport are proud to present everything you need to know about Season 4 of this fast-growing international cricket league. Kicking off on 2nd December 2025, the tournament will coincide with UAE National Day, creating the perfect blend of sport and celebration. The season will run through to the final on the 4th of January 2026, giving fans a month of top-tier T20 cricket set across iconic venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah

This edition of the ILT20 introduces several key changes that mark a new phase in the league’s evolution.

First Player Auction
In a move welcomed by fans and franchises alike, ILT20 Season 4 will feature a player auction for the first time. Replacing the draft system used in previous seasons, the auction is set for September 2025 and will allow teams to bid for players in an open format, mirroring leagues such as the IPL. This transition brings increased transparency, competitiveness and entertainment value to team building.

Franchises have already announced their retained player lists, with up to eight players confirmed per team ahead of the auction window. Analysts expect fierce competition for in-demand overseas players, particularly those with proven strike rates and finishing ability in T20 formats. The auction is also expected to provide more opportunities for UAE-based players, many of whom have impressed in development tournaments.

Updated Tournament Window
By shifting the tournament to a December–January window, organisers have ensured that ILT20 avoids direct scheduling conflicts with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, due in early 2026. This opens the door for more elite players to commit to the full season, increasing the overall standard of play and global interest.

Khalid Al Zarooni, Chairman of ILT20, highlighted the significance of the timing:

“We are delighted to confirm that Season 4 will commence on the UAE National Day, which is one of the most important days on the UAE calendar.”

Season 3 Recap
In Season 3, which concluded in early 2025, Dubai Capitals emerged as champions, defeating Desert Vipers by four wickets in a competitive final. Shai Hope led the tournament in runs with 527, combining consistency with elegant shot-making, while Fazalhaq Farooqi topped the bowling charts with 21 wickets.

MI Emirates also made headlines by posting the highest total in league history with 228 for 2 against Desert Vipers at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Performances like these underline the depth of talent the league continues to attract and develop.

Retained Players and New Signings
All six franchises confirmed their core squads in July. A selection of key retentions and new signings includes:

These additions will be complemented by auction picks in September, where each franchise will complete its squad and begin final preparations.

What the Coaches Are Saying
Tom Moody, part of the Desert Vipers’ management, expressed optimism about their upcoming campaign: “Not lifting the trophy is frustrating, but we’re close. We have retained a strong group and will use the auction to address key areas.”

David White, CEO of DP World ILT20, emphasised the significance of the new window and international availability: “We believe the December–January window is ideal. It allows players to perform at their best and still be available for national duty in early 2026.”

A Closer Look at the Venues
The tournament will unfold across three of the UAE’s most iconic cricket stadiums:
